Mow The Lawn

By Aaron Ben-Neth 2002

My mom told me to mow the lawn today
I said I'd rather do it some other day
I'd tell her how important some other things would be
To see if she'd let me slack a bit, you see...

It's a little game, with her, that I play
"Oh, please don't make me mow today."
So, I give in with a shrug and a shirk
But, you see, I like it… It's so not like work!

I ride around on my trusty steed
Giving our yard the manicure it needs
I'd do this all day, every day
If I didn't have to take time out to play

(but don't tell my mom, okay?)

You can send me an email and tell me what you think of my poems (that I actually did write), or if you know of the poem that my teacher might have read that she thought I copied, I would like to read it, so maybe you could send it to me, or tell me where I can read it at.
