Site Description: The visible portion of the boat ramp appeared to be in good condition. The slow speed limit and wake restrictions on the lake prevent excessive shoreline erosion. Willaby Creek Campground is also a day-use area and has several campsites. The day-use area is next to the lake and provides tables, fire-rings, and barbecue grills. The campground has pull-in R.V. sites and sites with tent pads. There are several drinking water stations within the campground. The site also has accessible picnic tables. 4. Site Description: The boat ramp has a moderate grade. Gravel has washed away from between the planks. Steel fasteners are exposed, but not corroding. Rip-rap has been placed along the left side of the ramp to prevent erosion. A concrete flair has been built at the end of the ramp and a concrete curb on the left side of the ramp. The campground also offers R.V. campsites, tent sites, picnic tables, barbecue grills, fire-rings, and a R.V. dump station. The Wynoochee Lake Shore Trail #878 surrounds the entire reservoir and goes through the campground. Just below the dam, about a half mile from the campground, the City of Aberdeen manages a visitors center that offers informational kiosks, observation deck, and restrooms open year round. Additional parking for the entire campground is found in the day-use area. No designated disabled parking. 5. The site is adjacent to Damon Point State Park and Natural Area which offers beach access, restrooms, and picnic tables. Additional parking for the marina is located on the other side of the motel. The Silver King Motel is between the boat ramp and the moorage docks. 13. The drainage on the south side of the parking area is eroding the approach to the boat ramp. An excessive amount of garbage and waste have been dumped in the parking area. People have made informal roads from the parking area to East Hoquiam Road. 14. Adjacent to the boat ramp is an observation tower overlooking the port and Grays Harbor. The boat ramp is prone to accumulate debris from the harbor. Additional vehicle and trailer parking is available up 28th Street. No overnight moorage at the site. Tie ups to the float are limited to thirty minutes. 17. Site Description: The bank-cut construction of the ramp removes the ramp from the river current. The boat ramp is uneven and rutted. This site appears to be a popular place to dump garbage. Animal parts, old barbed wire, and a pile of garbage were in piles at the site during the site visit. No sign indicates owner or manager of the site. No other facilities are associated with this site. 18. The entire park is designed with accessibility to all visitors in mind. A bus stop station is at the entrance to the park. 23. S. The vehicle and trailer parking area is directly west of the Coast Guard compound. The parking lot appears to be a storage yard for other port businesses. Parking can also be found along the waterfront between the floats. The Port of Grays Harbor also operates 800 moorage slips in Westport. Due to vandalism, the showers in the restrooms are no longer operational - as stated by the posted signs.
