Grays Harbor Log Scaling & Grading Bureau has been serving the Pacific Northwest since 1924, specializing in log scaling and grading. Recently, our services have been used in Texas and New York. We not only provide daily production reports on log volumes but also provide inventory services to our customers. Many of our customers receive this information as data files. Although the standard scaling method in the Northwest is under Scribner rules, our scalers can also scale a variety of Cubic Metric methods, including Japanese Brereton and JAS scale. We also offer consulting in log scaling, having sent representatives to China and Russia in recent years. Our expertise is not limited to log scaling. Our knowledge of log processing systems has allowed us to apply these methods to other facets of the timber industry. If you are interested in more information about us, our e-mail address is ghlsb@techline.com We are pleased to announce another service to the Timber Industry: WeighManager truck weighing system. This system is a PC based weight recording method that attaches to your existing weight scales and records weight information. The system is accessed by using a magnetic card, similar to a credit card. This card carries information about the unit being logged, the supplier, and the trucker. A weight receipt is printed at the end of the transaction for distribution to all parties. The information is collected each day automatically and transmitted to our home office, where it is prepared for our customers. Information can be distributed by three methods: data files, reports, and our Remote Network, which allows our customers access to our system and allows them to order reports, either screen or printed, based on their user code. Printed reports are transmitted to the customer's PC. This system is very flexible, and any commodity can be tracked.
