Grays Harbor's Most Wanted Lock-Up

Local businesspeople, professionals and volunteers congregate at Bridges Restaurant with one purpose. To raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Many of the people involved are closely related to or know someone who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy or one of the other 40 neurocuscular diseases that the MDA is determined to conquer.

Left-to-right: Tami, Larry and Chanalle Oliver from Sears Auto Center
The Oliver family, Tami, Larry and Chanalle, representing Sears Auto Center are having a good time raising their bails for MDA knowing that they are doing their part to help a worthy cause.

The Lock-Up is a community-wide extravaganza. Our jailbirds represent prominent, community-minded people who come together to raise money for the fight against neuromucular disease.

Lillian FinchLillian Finch (right) with ATT Cable Services knows that every $450 that she raises today will send one lucky local child with Muscular Dystrophy to Summer Camp. Allowing him or her to participate in sports activities such as swimming, horseback riding, archery, arts and crafts and cookouts. Kids also enjoy carnivals and other events while at camp.

HOW MUCH DO SERVICES COST?

  • $20 - Provides an annual flu shot
  • $75 - Covers a follow-up clinic visit
  • $100 - Funds a support group session
  • $450 - Sends one child to MDA Summer Camp
  • $750 - Pays for a muscle biopsy & interpretation
  • $1,700 - Goes toward the purchase of a wheelchair

Harold WarrenHarold Warren (left) of Aiken & Sanders is behind bars today because he realizes that local individuals living with neuromuscular disease are provided with clinic visits, wheelchair purchase assistance, support groups and the summer camp program. The money Warren raises today helps maintain that these services will be provided at no cost to local kids and families in need.
